Weather in Havana, Sept. 19-25
Warm, rains starting Sunday
Eduardo A. Fernandez Diaz
HAVANA TIMES — At the beginning of the term starting Thursday we will have partly cloudy days and warm weather in general. This will change at the end of the weekend when the low pressure area that is now located in the Yucatan Peninsula turns to the northeast bringing rains to the western portion of the country.
High temperatures will reach 32° C (90 F). The lows will remain stable at about 24° C (75 F). The sea surface temperature will reach 29 ° C (84 F).
Winds will be variable weak until Monday, when they will have a more southerly component.
In the next two days there is a good chance of the low pressure area becoming a tropical depression and then a tropical storm within the next five days. While it will not pass over Cuba, the northwestern part of the island can expect abundant rainfall.
