HAVANA TIMES – Four years after the July 11, 2021, demonstrations throughout Cuba, the vast majority of those arrested remain in prison, while most Cubans seem completely oblivious to this reality.
Imprisoning demonstrators in Cuba reminds of Tianamen Square in China. With a call for tolerance, the reform minded leadership of the time recommended that demonstrators were patriots and should be listened to. Instead, they were shot or executed and reform was set back for years. Cuba should not the same mistake, they should listen, make adjustments to improve the lives of Cubans and the move on. To not listen and to lock up demonstrators will set back possible progress and open the door for more US interference.
Tragic and sad! Cuba needs a real people’s revolution to bring about a change in government. As long as the military and communist party are in charge the 1959 revolution will only succeed in feeding their corruption and wealth at the cost of the entire country’s pain and suffering!
