Old Doors in Havana

HAVANA TIMES — Old chronicles tell us that Havana used to be covered in timber-yielding trees before it was a city, where Manilkara trees, cedars, mahogany and the reddish rosewood trees would keep the earth cool and damp.
It is said that the majority of this beautiful wood ended up being used in churches, convents and palaces in Europe.
It is also said that a lot of that nature was lost in the sea’s darkest depths.
Today, old doors in Havana tell us a little something about all of this history.
