Cuba’s Yipsi Moreno Wins Gold in France

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban hammer thrower Yipsi Moreno obtained a gold medal at the Stanislas athletics competition in Nancy, France, with a 73.23 meter launch, JIT Online reported.

With only two fouls, all of Moreno valid shots were within the expected range, which was rated as “good sign”, although the Cuban was far from her maximum mark one 76.62, and the 73.98 this season, registered two days ago in Poland.

Cuban athletes continue Thursday in the Swiss city of Lausanne, in the eighth stage of the Diamond League Athletics Competitions, with the presentations of the discus throwers Yarelis Barrios and Yaime Perez, long hurdler Omar Cisneros and triple jumpers Ernesto Reve and Pedro Pablo Pichardo.
