HAVANA TIMES — This period begins with tropical depression number 9 of the current hurricane season located in the southwest of the Gulf of Mexico and moving eastward with an average speed of 5 kph (3 mph). There have been wind gusts of 75 kph / (40 mph). On its way through the Yucatan and Belize a large amount of accumulated rainfall is expected, but the system will weaken and lose in organization. In any case, the storm does not represent a threat to Cuba.
Meanwhile, the remains of a weak cold front extending from the Southeast part of Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula will move eastward with the passage of time. There will be rains in the western part of the country including Havana through Saturday.
After Saturday the weather will be good, sunny and sometimes partly cloudy.
The maximum temperature will be between 29° C (84° F) and 27° C (81° F). The lows will range around 24° C (75° F).
The sea surface temperature will reach 26° C (79 F).
