HT Cuba Photo Contest 2014 Finalists

HAVANA TIMES — As the Sixth Havana Times Cuba Photo Contest nears its conclusion, today we present the pictures that made it to the final round of competition. We plan to post the winners and special mentions within the next week.

The 20-member jury started out with 555 pictures from 72 participants. That number was reduced to 163 from 48 participants in the first round of selection. Now, after the second round of selection, there are 80 surviving photos from 32 participants: Cuba by Night (19), Achievements (16), Failures (17), Housing (13) and Posters/Billboards (15).

For the final round of selection, using a point system for tabulation, the jury was asked to pick a first place (10 points), second (5 points), third (3 points) and fourth place (1 point) for each category.
