Havana Weather for Oct. 15-21
Isolated showers
By Yanet Diaz
HAVANA TIMES – A cold front extends from the western Atlantic to the eastern portion of the Gulf of Mexico. This front will continue moving south and gradually dissipate during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a trough surface extends in the Yucatan Channel, covering much of the western Caribbean Sea. This system favors the development of moderate and isolated convection over the entire western and central Cuba.
Therefore, the occurrence of rain and some thunderstorms is likely in Havana, especially in the first half of the forecast period.
The prevalence of weak trade winds over the entire Caribbean basin, with speeds between 15 and 20 km / h is estimated, although stronger winds may occur in the afternoon.
High temperatures will range between 30 and 32° C (86 and 90 F), while the lows will be between 20 and 23° C (68 and 73 F). Relative humidity will range between 50 and 80%.
The sea surface temperature is 29° C (84 F).
For the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico no tropical cyclone formation is expected during the next five days.
