Belkis Ayon Anthological Exhibition

HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 4 – Commemorating the 10th anniversary of the death of pioneering Cuban visual artist Belkis Ayón (1967-1999), an exhibition will be presented at the San Francisco de Assisi Convent through September and up to November 28.

“Estate Belkis Ayón” (a work directed by Katia Ayón) makes available to art lovers and researchers the artist’s first anthological exhibition titled Nkame (a synonym for praise and greeting in the Abakúa language and the title of a soon to be released book).  The exhibit explores a wide selection of Ayón’s graphic work from 1984 until her death.
