HAVANA TIMES, April 1 — “Rumba on the Prado” is a community dance fiesta organized by the Centro de la Danza, located in at 111 Prado Avenue (between Refugio and Genio Streets).
These popular performances are planned for the last Friday of every month.
On this March occasion, participating were the “Barara” folkloric company, Escuela de Jusu, Rumba Morena, La Casa de la Cultura de Centro Habana, Las chicas del Ayer con el “Rap de la tercera edad” and El Grupo Experimental del Centro de la Danza.
These groups have been putting on community service shows for some time now. These began in what are often considered less desirable places, such as remote countryside and mountain areas. However, currently the sites have been expanded to urban areas – including the capital city.
