Cuba Opposes Biological Weapons
HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 6 — On behalf of the Non-Aligned Movement, Cuba reiterated its support for the Convention on Biological Weapons in Geneva on Monday.
Cuban ambassador Rodolfo Benitez questioned the opposition of the United States to adopting a legally binding protocol aimed at strengthening the convention after seven years of negotiations, according to the report by Prensa Latina.
Speaking at the seventh conference reviewing the convention, Benitez reaffirmed the vital importance of the agreement to promote the peaceful use of agents, materials and equipment in the field of biology and biotechnology by developing countries.
