Cuban Wrestler to Join Regional Sports Body
HAVANA TIMES, Dec 28 — The Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez was selected to join the five-member Athletes Commission of the Pan American Sports Organization, noted Prensa Latina news agency.
The four-time world champion Greco-Roman wrestler in the 120 kilos weight class was among the top five athletes in votes received at the recent Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
This recognition received by the Cuban wrestler is also shared with the Canadian gymnast Alexandra Orlando, Haitian triple-jumper Samyra Laine, Guatemalan table tennis player Andrea Estrada, and the Mexican tae kwon do master Guillermo Perez.
