Released Cuban 5 Member Threatened in US
HAVANA TIMES — A threat has been made against the life of Rene Gonzalez, one of the five Cuban intelligence operatives convicted in the US, reported Canadian journalist Jean Guy Allard today in an article published in the Granma newspaper.
The article cites a call to the radio program “La tarde se mueve” in which a listener asks to “modify the health” of Gonzalez, who is presently free after having served 13 years in prison but is now on probation and confined to US soil.
According to the journalist, the listener acknowledged that there are people in Miami ready to kill Gonzalez, although out of the 25 calls received on the program, 16 were from people in favor of him being allowed to return to Cuba.
