Aron Modig Arrives in Sweden
HAVANA TIMES — Jens Aron Modig, the Swedish citizen involved in the traffic accident in which Cuban political opposition leader Oswaldo Paya died, arrived in Stockholm on Tuesday after being allowed to leave the island, reported the EFE news agency.
According to the website of the conservative Swedish Christian Democratic Youth League, the political leader is “resting with his family” and is expected to give a press conference on Friday.
There were moments of “great concern” following the “terrible accident,” continues the text of the Youth League site, which considers Modig’s activities a part of the “struggle for democratic rights and freedom…beyond the borders of Sweden.”
Before leaving Cuba, Modig denied allegations promoted by dissent factions concerning another vehicle being involved in the accident.
