Minister Dissatisfied with Educational Results
HAVANA TIMES — Cuba’s Minister of Education, Ena Elsa Velazquez, expressed on Thursday her dissatisfaction with the mixed outcomes in the area when speaking on the “Mesa Redonda” television program, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
“Students aren’t learning everything they need,” said the official, in addition to conveying her regrets about being unable to recruit the full level of staff required, which in her opinion affects the quality of teaching.
The shortage of teachers is being felt on the island despite the falling birth rate and therefore the number of school-aged children.
