Twitter Exaggerated Castro’s Death
HAVANA TIMES — The account @GobCubaExter, on the social network Twitter, gave false information about the health of former president Fidel Castro, according to a report from the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MIREX).
Through its official account (@ CubaMinrex), on Friday the government condemned the “falsity of the messages sent” over the past several days, including one announcing the supposed death of Fidel Castro.
According to Diario de Cuba, the profile in question was opened in the name of Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla, the current foreign minister of the island, and this site already has thousands of followers. The account remains active despite the complaints of twitters users and bloggers.
