HAVANA TIMES — Famous Cuban painter and sculptor Agustin Bejarano accepted a plea bargain and was sentenced this week in Maimi to 3 ½ years in prison and 10 years probation for molesting a 5-year-old boy.

In exchange for entering a guilty plea, Bejarano was given a sentence of three and a half years plus ten years probation, noted CBS4 news. However, he was given credit for the 18 months he’s been in jail, so he will serve two more years in prison. After his release the court will decide if he should be deported to Cuba.

The news report added that if the case had gone to trial and a guilty verdict delivered, Bejarano could have received a life sentence.

Bejarano is known as one of Cuba’s stellar artists and his paintings have been exhibited in many countries including the US, Switzerland, Mexico and Canada.

  • Been looking up the name Bejarano to maybe find lost family members and this comes up? God i really hope he’s not related to me because I think he deserves the worst penalty anyone can have

  • A man who molests a 5-yr-old boy (or girl) should receive the maximum penalty available under the law. To give this rat a plea bargain, and let him off with a relative slap on the wrist is disgusting.

A man who would molest a child is without honor, and is on the level of a beast.
