Boris Becker Wants to Assist Cuban Sports

HAVANA TIMES — German former star tennis player Boris Becker said on Saturday during a press conference at the Havana Convention Center that he intends to collaborate with the development of Cuban sports.

“We want to meet with officials of the Cuban Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation to discuss possibilities for collaborating on the development of sports in Cuba. We’re aware of their international success and want to support them not only in tennis, but in every way generally,” said the former leader in world rankings.

According to Prensa Latina, the leading exponent of men’s tennis in Germany said he will return to Havana next year on the invitation of Alicia Alonso to attend the International Ballet Festival.
