Indigenous leaders said Tuesday they will not meet with government officials until security forces are withdrawn from certain areas of Quito.

They also urged him “to continue his support for the immediate release of the more than 180 political prisoners…”

With 98.22% of the returns in, Petro obtained 50.51% of the votes. His rival, Rodolfo Hernandez, received 47.25%.
