Energy Awareness Project in Cuba

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE) and the London Imperial College are financing a project on Energy Communication and Culture, sponsored by the Cuban Society for the Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources and Environmental Respect (CUBASOLAR), IPS reported today. The initiative will train media, education and research specialists on how to communicate the results of environmental, energy and food education projects.

Castro Says Colombia Won’t Attack Ven.

In an interview given to journalists from the Telesur multinational channel, former Cuban President Fidel Castro ruled out that the Colombian armed forces would begin a military conflict on the border with Venezuela. Cuba and US Abort Hijacking of Vessel

Cuba’s Border Patrol and the US Coast Guard worked in coordination to abort the kidnapping of a vessel in which four persons from the island were attempting to illegally reach the United States after taking over the vessel at the Tarará Nautical Base, east of the Cuban capital. The kidnappers and the vessel were returned in compliance with the Migration Agreements in force.
