ALBA Arts & Letters Awards Granted Today
HAVANA TIMES — The 2012 ALBA Arts and Letters Awards were bestowed today at the close of the Third International Conference for World Equilibrium, at the Havana Convention Center.
Cultural and academic institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean nominated 27 important figures as candidates for the award, instituted in 2007 by the ALBA Cultural Project.
The jury was composed of Argentine political scientist Atilio Boron, Panamanian sociologist Guillermo Castro, Ecuadorian poet and journalist Raul Perez Torres, Bolivian researcher Esteban Ticona and Cuban choral director Digna Guerra.
