Laura Alonso Ballet through March 21

HAVANA TIMES, March 19 — The Laura Alonso Ballet is performing “La Bayadera” at the Mella Theater in the Vedado district through March 21.

Performances are at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost 10.00 regular pesos and 2.00 CUC for foreigners.  Telephone: 833-5651

The troupe was founded in 1995 and has performed in Mexico, Argentina, Perú Brazil, Guadalupe and Jamaica.  It’s male and female dances possess much vitality and are full on innovation.

Over the last 25 years, dancers trained by Laura Alonso have won prestigious awards in international competitions in New York, Varna, Rio de Janeiro, Osaka, Jackson, Helsinki, Havana, Lausanne and others.
