Book Presented on the Pope’s Visit to Cuba and Mexico

HAVANA TIMES — The book 14 mil millas (14,000 miles), which chronicles the journey of Pope Benedict XVI to Cuba and Mexico this year, was presented in Mexico City on Tuesday by the apostolic nuncio of Mexico, Christophe Pierre, and politician Luis Felipe Bravo Mena.

From a journalistic standpoint, the work illustrates the Pope’s visits to the two countries, which weren’t outside of controversy given the upcoming federal elections in Mexico at that time and the human rights situation in Cuba.

According to a Notimex report, in the part of the book dedicated to the island, various topics are collected such as the Ladies in White and the controversial meeting between Fidel Castro and Pope Benedict XVI.
