Canada’s Americas Point Man to Visit Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, April 28 – Canada’s Secretary of State for the Americas, Peter Kent, will travel to Cuba next month, he announced during a press conference in Toronto. Kent expressed his wish that the island, encouraged by the U.S. opening, move “a bit faster toward democracy,” reported IPS.

“It’s evident that change is in the air. The election of the Obama administration has given real momentum to the sort of change that Canada has been encouraging for a long time,” Kent told Canwest News in an exclusive interview.
