Cuba Cinema Award to Eslinda Nuñez
HAVANA TIMES, June 14 — Cuba’s coveted National Cinema Award for 2011 was received by actress Eslinda Nuñez at the headquarters of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) in the capital.
Some of Nuñez’ most memorable roles were in the films Lucia (1968), Memories of Underdevelopment (1968), Cecilia (1981), Amada (1983).
The award was delivered to the actress by Abel Prieto, the Minister of Culture. Also present were Miguel Barnet, the president of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists and artist Nelson Dominguez, who dedicated one of his works to Nuñez.
