Cuba-Colombia Parliamentary Leaders Meet

HAVANA TIMES, March 9 – Juan Manuel Corzo, president of the Colombian legislature, spoke Thursday with his Cuban counterpart, Ricardo Alarcon, to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties, reported Prensa Latina.

The legislator, who returns to Colombia on Friday, told reporters that during his visit we have promoted important agreements in industries such as tourism, foreign trade, biotechnology, and sports, cultural, scientific and educational exchanges.

Corzo’s presence in Cuba was part of a regional tour aimed at strengthening Latin American parliaments, he explained, and nothing indicates that it relates to the recent visit of President Juan Manuel Santos to the island on Wednesday,
