HAVANA TIMES, March 8 — A new cultural center dedicated to The Beatles was opened in the Havana district of El Vedado, just a few meters from the park where there is a statue of John Lennon.

The installation, named El submarino amarillo (The Yellow Submarine) is a tribute to a song by the British group, and will offer music from the 1960s and 70s.

Back in those years, The Beatles were banned from the media of the Caribbean country for ideological reasons.

  • Magnifica iniciativa! Necesito saber como me puedo contactar con Ernesto Juan Castellanos.

  • that’s funny I had a friend who was kicked out of Havana university and sent to cut sugar cane in Pinar Del Rio for listening to the Beatles in Cuba in the 19 70’s how times change
