Cuba Losses Title in Youth World Baseball

HAVANA TIMES — The previously undefeated Cuban youth baseball team (with players under the age of 15) went down in defeat on Monday to the Venezuelan team during the final game of the World Baseball tournament being held in Chihuahua, Mexico.

After a flawless performance in the tournament, Cuba’s pitching couldn’t stop the Venezuelan drive, despite having won a comfortable victory against those same opponents earlier on.

Venezuela managed to score a total of 10 runs, while the island’s squad could only respond with two runs scored, according to Café Fuerte.

Nonetheless, Cuba placed four of its players in the All-Stars Championship: Yordan Alvarez (first base), Rangel Ramos (shortstop), Camilo Quintero (outfielder), and southpaw pitcher Dannel Diaz, who was also the leader in the earned run average.
