Cuba Rejects EU Policy

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 27 — The Cuban government rejected the possibility of improving relations with the European Union (EU) while the Common Position is maintained, a policy in force since 1996 that conditions bilateral relations on certain reforms on the island, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez affirmed. “We do not recognize the moral authority or any policy (of the EU) to criticize in terms of human rights,” the Cuban foreign minister said when speaking before the UN General Assembly, reported IPS.
