Cuba Rules for Small Business on Sale

HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 25 — A guide for self employed workers and small businesses is for sale at newsstands in Cuba as of Monday, announced the local press.

The pamphlet details the tax scheme for those who lose their jobs in the public sector layoffs taking place on the island and seek an alternative in what will become a larger private sector.

At least 10 percent of the entire Cuban work force is expected to by laid off by the end of March and another 10 percent in the period that follows.

See the Granma International article titled Tax Matters to get an idea of the rules and regulations that will pertain to these forms of work.
