Cuban Artists Arrive in Venezuela Today
HAVANA TIMES — Cuban cultural figures arrived today in Venezuela to honor Commander Hugo Chavez, who died on March 5 in Caracas, reported the Prensa Latina.
The delegation consists of the former Minister of Culture Abel Prieto (who’s currently an advisor to President Raul Castro), and Miguel Barnet, who is the president of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and of the Fernando Ortiz Foundation.
Also traveling to the South American nation are internationally renowned Cuban musicians Leo Brouwer, Juan Formell (Los VanVan), Israel Rojas and Yoel Martinez (the Buena Fe duo) and singer Amaury Perez.
