Cuban Chess Players Rack up More Victories in Turkey

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuba women’s team scored more victories in the Chess Olympics being held in Istanbul when they beat the Montenegro team 3-1 on Thursday, reports Prensa Latina.

During the ninth day of competition, Cuban Grandmaster Oleiny Linares defeated Grand Master Fide Alekxandra Milovic on the second board in a match of 39 moves.

Meanwhile, Cuban GM Llaudy Lisandra, playing on the fourth board, emerged triumphant against Marija Stojanovic in just 25 moves.

Their fellow Cuban players, Lisandra Ordaz on board one and Maritza Arribas on board three, also won against Jovana Vojinovic and Tijana Blagojevic, respectively.
