Cuban Cyclist Wins Silver at World Event

HAVANA TIMES, March 27 — Cuban female cyclist Yumari Gonzalez won a silver medal in the Scratch event at the World Cycling Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.   It was the fifth medal won by Gonzalez at similar competitions.  The gold medal went to Pascale Jeuland of France and Autralian  Belinda Goss finished third.

Meanwhile, in the 500-meter Time Trial, Cuba’s Lisandra Guerra qualified for the second round but was then eliminated and finished ninth. Anne Meares of Australia won the event.
