Cuban Defense of Morning After Pills

HAVANA TIMES, Jan. 21 – The use of emergency contraceptive can save the lives of millions of women that undergo abortions under risk conditions or have complications during pregnancy and giving birth, affirmed Jorge Peláez Mendoza, president of the Children and Youth Section of the Cuban Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Pelaez presented a paper on the subject at the 5th Cuban Congress on Sex Education, Guidance and Therapy, being held in the island’s capital.

At the same Congress, Mary Guinn Delaney, UNESCO regional advisor, praised Cuba as one of the most advanced countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in the area of sex education.
