Cuban Guinness Record-Holder Seeking Three More Global Bests

HAVANA TIMES — Cuban athlete Lefont Jhoen, the world record holder in bouncing a soccer ball off his head while swimming, announced on Monday that this year he is looking to set three new world records, reported Prensa Latina.

On 23 February, while in the water off the Hemingway Marina in Havana, Lefont will attempt to swim more than 200 meters balancing a soccer ball on his forehead.

The other two attempts will be at the middle and end of the year, when he will attempt to retain ball control with his head and a heavy weight, and also rack up a record number of bounces of a soccer ball as possible in 30 seconds.

The 25-year-old athlete won a spot in the Guinness record book last year when he executed 1,203 bounces off his head while remaining afloat in the swimming pool of the capital city’s Hotel Nacional.
