HAVANA TIMES — The Mexican professional baseball team, the Pirates of Campeche have decided to cut the Cuban outfielder Yordanis Samon after a poor performance in the seven games in which he saw action.

Samon, who plays for Granma in the Cuban league, had only two singles in 18 at-bats for a .111 average, with two strikeouts and a walk.

With the exit of Samon, and that of Michel Enriquez, due to an injury, the only remaining Cuban player in the Mexican Professional League is outfielder Alfredo Despaigne, who is batting third for the Pirates and so far accumulates a .278 average.
