Cuban VP Lazo to Costa Rica Inaug.

HAVANA TIMES, May 8 — Cuban Vice President Esteban Lazo is in Costa Rica on Sunday heading the island’s delegation to the swearing in of President Laura Chinchilla Miranda in San Jose.

Costa Rica and Cuba restored diplomatic relations in 2009 after the Central American nation unilaterally broke off ties with the Caribbean nation back in 1961.

Today, the United States is the only country in the Americas without formal ties with Cuba.
