Estado de SATS premieres censored documentary

HAVANA TIMES, April 17 — The Estado de SATS online initiative, coordinated by physicist Antonio Rodiles, will be showing documentary “Awakening” (Despertar) on April 20 following its exclusion from the recently concluded Exhibition of Young Filmmakers festival.

According to an article published on the Estado de SATS website,  the censored documentary “delves into the everyday experiences of the rapper and Raudel Collazo (Escuadron Patriota) in his hometown of Guines.”

The meeting will be attended by filmmakers Ricardo Figueredo and Anthony Bubaire, the authors of the material that led to the resignation of award-winning filmmaker Fernando Perez as the director of the festival sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.
