Firefighters Receive Donation from Japan

HAVANA TIMES — The Japanese Embassy in Cuba on Tuesday donated four fire engines to the Cuban Fire Department, reported the Granma newspaper.

The contribution is part of the Human Security for Communities Grant Program of the Japanese government and aims to strengthen the firefighting system on the Caribbean island.

According to the news article, the vehicles will be added to those of the Commando No.1 Fire Brigade in Old Havana, a densely populated community of old buildings and narrow streets.
