HAVANA TIMES, April 6 — Cuban pianist Harold Lopez Nussa won the prestigious French Adami “Talents Jazz 2011” award on Monday in Paris.
The 26-year-old sensation will now play in the Vienna, Austria Jazz Festival on June 29 and has other engagements in Juan les Pins, France on July 23 and in Paris on July 24.
He will also perform at the Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festival on August 10, reports the AIN news agency.
Lopez Nussa, who comes from a family of jazz musicians and composers, also plays classical music.
Asked by AIN what he most likes to play, Harold Lopez Nussa said “it’s like a dream to play both types of music.”
He said jazz is a great passion for him and that concert music is another passion and that he has studied to play the great pieces of universal classical music for piano, “which are beyond comparison.”
