Havana Mass for the Health of Chavez

HAVANA TIMES, March 6 — The apostolic nuncio in Havana, Bruno Musaro, presided over a Mass on Sunday in that city’s cathedral to pray for the health of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, reported AFP.

Cuban television news covered the religious service that was held at the request of the Venezuelan Embassy in Havana and was attended by the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Cuba, as well as by the official Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal.

Just seven months before presidential elections in which Chavez will be seeking a new mandate, he is in Cuba recovering from a surgery in which a second cancerous tumor was removed from the same area of his body where in 2011 he suffered his first. He will now be undergoing radiation treatments.
