Some thunderstorms in the afternoons

By Yanet Diaz

HAVANA TIMES – During the coming 7-day forecast period, the days will be hot with partly cloudy skies and high moisture content. In the afternoons the cloudiness will increase and some rains and isolated thunderstorms will be possible that could extend into the night.

There will be weak winds from the east, with speeds between 6 and 12 mph. The maximum temperatures will be between 31 and 33° C (88 and 91 F), while the low temperatures will range between 23 and 24° C (73 and 75 F). The sea surface temperature will be 28° C (82 F).

Meteorological conditions:

The passage of tropical waves in the Caribbean Sea and the presence of troughs in the upper troposphere dominate the weather conditions during this week. The daytime heating, humidity and favorable conditions in the heights, will cause the development of convection, making possible the occurrence of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoons.
