HAVANA TIMES, Oct. l4 – The National Front Against the Coup in Honduras left the negotiations table on Wednesday unwilling to concede its agenda that includes a constitutional assembly that would draft a new constitution.

The group that has kept up protests since the June 28 military coup that deposed President Manuel Zelaya issued a communiqué on Tuesday stating its reasons for losing faith in the dialogue, begun at the insistence of the Organization of American States (OAS).

With the withdrawal from the talks of its representative Juan Barahona, the resistance movement stated it will continue its protest efforts in the streets demanding the return of constitutional order and the restitution of President Zelaya, as well as the convoking of a constitutional assembly.

The resistance movement also criticized the continued repression, demanding the freeing of political prisoners and the reopening of the different media raided and closed by the military.
