IBAF Execs Meeting in Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Jan. 29 — A meeting of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) is taking place Saturday in Havana, Cuba.  The following is the press release from the sports organization.

“The IBAF executive committee meeting opened today in Havana, Cuba with Cuban sports dignitaries Sra. Yumilka Ruiz Luaces, (Member of IOC athlete commission) and Sr. Roberto Leon Richard (1st VP of INDER) present to open the days proceedings. The city is also the home of IBAF 3rd Vice President Antonio Castro.

“IBAF President Riccardo Fraccari presented a plaque to Sr. Roberto Leon Richard and a medal to Sra. Yumilka Ruiz Luaces for their efforts to promote sports and the game of baseball.

“Both Sr. Richard and Sra. Luaces welcomed the IBAF executive to Havana and expressed gratitude  for their country being chosen to host such an important meeting. Also of importance to the Cuban duo was the IBAF’s Olympic reinstatement campaign, with both pledging support wherever possible.

“The afternoon session is expected to involve discussion on the IBAF Baseball World Cup and the international event calendar,” informed the IBAF.
