Increased Illegal Activities on Cuban Coasts

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban border guards detected 684 offenses during the first half of this year, much higher than the same period last year, reports The Prensa Latina news agency.

According to an official of the National Guard Troops, there’s a growing trend of activities related to fishing and predation of flora and fauna.

Among the most common violations outstanding traffic lobsters and other species involving fishing boat crew members and workers of state collection centers, individuals who sell part of the catch, said the officer.

The memo said other actions as predatory hunting hutias and crocodiles, sand mining and logging.
