Long Hours for Workers at Cuban Airport
HAVANA TIMES – The workday of the brigade making repairs to Terminal 3 of the capital’s Jose Marti Airport, was extended to 14 hours a day , reported Trabajadores weekly .
The placement of 23 thousand square feet of false ceiling under very difficult conditions, is expected to be completed this December 31 , leading to a double shift , and non-stop action at night.
The air terminal repair program initially called for a year of work, but the delay in the import of materials forced a reduction of the time available to less than six months , of which five have already gone by , says the note.
That can only happen because the Cuban trade unions have once again been found sleeping on the job. Proper Health & Safety rules would not go amiss either.
