Lyrical Singers from Italy and Cuba to Pay Tribute to Verdi

HAVANA TIMES — Young lyrical singers from Italy and Cuba will come together in Havana in a concert on September 29th as part of a global series of tributes for the bicentenary of the birth of composer Giuseppe Verdi, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The Basilica Menor of the St. Francis of Assisi Convent will welcome performers from the northern Italian city of Parma, who will be accompanied by the Nuestro tiempo chamber orchestra directed by Cuban maestro Enrique Perez Mesa.

Several activities will take place around the world in honor of the composer of the famous operas Rigoletto, La Traviata, Aida and others.
