Minor Earthquake Felt in Granma
HAVANA TIMES — An earthquake of 3.2 on the Richter scale was felt on Tuesday in several villages in Granma Province, though without reports of human injury or material damage, reported the Cuban Information Agency.
According to the Network of Seismological Service Stations, the tremor was recorded at 7:21 am yesterday and located 250 kilometers south-southeast of the town of Pilon at a depth of eight kilometers.
This earthquake — the third barely noticeable one on the island this year — was said to be felt in several areas in the eastern province.
Another similar event, but of greater magnitude (4.0 degrees), was felt on Friday in various parts of eastern Cuba, centered at 34 km from Santiago de Cuba and at a depth of 23 km.
