New Publications at Havana Film Festival

HAVANA TIMES — Various new publications of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) will be presented during the 34th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which begins its activities Tuesday.

On Sunday, December 9, in the “1930 Hall” of the Hotel Nacional, ICAIC will present editions 185 and 186 of the magazine Cine Cubano as well as the book “Explorando el cine caribeño,” a selection of writings by Luis Alberto Notario and Bruce Paddington.

The public will also have access the books Para verte mejor, Pasajes del cine cubano en La Gaceta de Cuba, by Norberto Codina; Sexo de cine. Visitaciones y goces de un peregrino, by Alberto Garrandes; La descolonización de la mirada, by Adolfo Colombres; and La historiografia en el siglo XX, by Carlos Antonio Aguirre.

On Monday, December 10, will be the presentation of Yo tambien amo el cine, a selection of interviews by journalist Orlando Castellanos; Vampiros en la Habana, by Juan Padron; and Esclavos en la pantalla, by Canadian filmmaker Natalie Zemon Davis.
