Pope Questions US Blockade on Cuba
HAVANA TIMES, Dec. 11 – Pope Benedict XVI questioned Thursday the U.S. embargo against Cuba, “which especially affects the poorest persons and families,” in statements during the reception of the island’s new ambassador to the Holy See, Eduardo Delgado, reported IPS.
The Supreme Pontiff also called for “the continued multiplication of concrete signs of opening to the exercise of religious freedom” in the Caribbean country, such as the authorization to give masses in prisons and religious processions.
