HAVANA TIMES, March 3 – The drop in agricultural production in the province of Havana, bordering on the island’s capital, caused a lack of supplies in the markets in this city, reported IPS.   In January and February the harvests did not exceed 65 per cent of the plan due to a lack of insecticides, fertilizers, fuel and organizational deficiencies, noted government authorities.

  • All Cuba has to do is study the cooperative economic history of tiny Denmark and apply its lessons to the agricultural sector, and the absurdities of food shortages would disappear almost overnight.

But, as the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.
